It's February???
Time sure keeps moving forward whether I keep track of it or not π I'm still playing catch-up on everything, but by doing one thing at the time, I'm actually making progress - huzzah!
One thing I'm getting to today is going through what books I read last year.
In 2025 I read 90 books, which I'm fairly pleased with. Sadly had to give up on the Book Bingo I was doing because I didn't have the brainpower to think through my book choices - but there's always next/this year π
If you're curious about what those 90 books were, here's a link to a summary on Storygraph.
Some thoughts and comments:
Those were my book thoughts from last year! And I've already got started on my reading for this year π
Any books/comics/manga people are really looking forward to read?

Some thoughts and comments:
- I finally got around to reading another Swedish classic by Selma LagerlΓΆf! Not fully my thing, but Herr Arnes penningar is waaaay better than anything I've had to read in school by August Strindberg (I have beef with Strindberg). The experience was enhanced by my parents, sister and I reading the story aloud to each other during our joint vacation, so we could all comment on the plot and characters "live" π
- Continued T J Klune's fun werewolf series Green Creek - hoping to get to the final book this year!
- The Monstress series is sooo good and the art keeps on being gorgeous. I both can't wait for the ending and don't want it to end.
- Reread Berserk in anticipation of reading the newest book in the series. I'm still in the line to borrow said newest (non-Mirua) volume from the library π
- The Lost Future of Pepperharrow by Natasha Pulley has its flaws, but darn, I just adore the main couple's dynamic. Didn't get into The Bedlam Stacks as much, but can't complain about the writing.
- Really enjoyed The Dementia by
tassosss and can't wait to read the next book! I was today year's old when I found out the sequel is coming out now in March, huzzah π₯³ - The Doctor Who Fooled the World is both an infuriating read and a hopeful read. I know I'm late to the party (yes, I did hear about it from watching HBomberguy's vaccine video) but I finally gave Brian Deer his well-deserved money by buying the book!
- Speaking of Youtubers and health care, I read John Green's Everything is Tuberculosis. He definitely puts both his money and his time where his mouth is. Very well worth the read!
- Still utterly in love with Witch Hat Atelier π
- Picked up some Brandon Sanderson books, finally. Thus far I've only read the Mistborn series. Will be interesting to see how much he evolves as a writer across his books. I already really like his free lectures on writing, so it's great to learn I don't hate his books, even if they're not 100% my kind of thing.
- Speaking of people I've watched talk about writing without having read their writing first: really enjoyed the short story collection A Catalogue for the End of Humanity by Timothy Hickson aka Hello Future Me.
- Read more T. Kingfisher, confirming that I will love everything she writes π
- Also, I'm running out of Terry Pratchett books to read π I know I can always reread, but it's sad to know there are very few left that I'll be reading for the first time.
- Ended the year by reading more horror, as is tradition, and managed to pick some books that really worked for me (and some that absolutely didn't π). The Reformatory by Tananarive Due was just *chef's kiss*, We Used to Live Here by Marcus Kliewer made me request Yuletide fic and We Spread by Iain Reid made me curious to pick up I'm thinking of ending things even though I've been spoiled on the twist. Also, read some Shirley Jackson, cause that's always a good way to unsettle oneself.
- Books I'd hoped to vibe with but didn't: Most Ardently by Gabe Cole Novoa (the cover is still wonderful though) and The Haar by David Sodergren (also has a great cover, though more in the body horror sense).
Those were my book thoughts from last year! And I've already got started on my reading for this year π
