I look down for a second and when I look back up I'm in the middle of my first workweek as well as trying to help pull together a big LARP at the start of September πŸ˜…

Will hopefully have time to catch up with everyone and reply to comments during August buuuut with my current wobbly time management skills, mid-September looks likelier. Darn. There really should be more hours in the day!

Besides arranging stuff for the LARP (really need to find a horse transport our budget can afford!) I've become utterly distracted by the newest non-fic writing project I talked about in this earlier post. I've been worldbuilding and plotting and having a great time~! I've even, already, commissioned two character artworks for this Apparently Absolutely Now A WIP:

Aster, the main character (a rΓ₯/huldra)
and
Yrsa, Aster's human runewitch BFF/love interest.

Spent this evening brainstorming some real fun "lore" about how vittera work in this world, together with the amazing artist of the above artwork πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–

So yeah. Busy with fun stuff (and work) and that's great, but if anyone knows any time wizards, please put in a good word for me.

Other than working full time, this has been my schedule this week:

Monday - Videochat with a friend, followed by long phone call with another friend.
Tuesday - DM:ed one of my long-running D&D campaigns.
Wednesday - Dinner meeting with my LARP group.
Thursday - Afterwork dinner with my workplace.
Friday - DM:ed a Candela Obscura assignment.
Saturday - LARP all day!
Sunday - Worked on rereading Fullmetal Alchemist, editing A Werewolf in October aaaand DM:ed another of my long-running D&D campaigns.

Quite the week! Had a lot of fun, but with work on top of this I'm very much ready for vacation a-sap πŸ˜†

Or you'd think so, if you were one of my oldest friends whose phone calls keep overlapping with me DMing πŸ˜†

I've had a crazy busy couple of weeks, which is delightful though exhausting. So much roleplaying, both with dice and through LARP, and so many fun hangouts with friends. Both of my D&D groups are back up to being active again and are getting to some important plot things soon~

Could do with some writing time soon, but hey, there are only so many hours in the week πŸ˜…

Btw, I finally watched RRR! If you've also seen it, I'd love to talk about it 😊 I absolutely adore the main dance number:

Had a great video meeting with my LARP group tonight, have a video chat planned with a friend tomorrow, will be DMing one of my D&D campaigns on Saturday and on Sunday I'm going over to two friends to see Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves since they haven't seen it yet (I'm supplying the movie, they have the snacks~) AND I've managed to catch up with work and my writing~

I wish an equally good end of the week to all πŸ’—

And a good weekend before it 😁 Had a mini-party + planning session with my LARP group, am slowly making my way through New Game+ of Alan Wake II - I'm getting ALL the collectibles, I'm too stubborn not too -, got truly started on a new fanfic (surprise surprise, it's one of the Alan Wake II/Remedyverse ones), read wonderful fanfic made by other people, got done with all the work I had to get done today, aaaand spent a few hours catching up with a dear friend over the phone and several others over chat πŸ’–

I'm waaaay too caught up in planning and writing this fanfic though πŸ˜† Very torn between finishing New Game+ of Alan Wake II so I know all the canon that's available and just writing fanfic about the characters partially ill-informed. We'll see which wolf wins out in the end~

The mini-essay about why I love Remedyverse will have to wait for another day. Hopefully I'll get home on time tomorrow *knocks on wood*
nonesensed: (Sadly this is true for me.)
I have somehow managed to align far too many fun but energy-demanding activities at the same time. Things I'm currently juggling:
  1. DMing two very active D&D campaigns (they're at level 7 and 6~!)
  2. Just finished the full draft of "A Werewolf in October" and am editing it to make it into a fully finished version. I will post the full story online before summer is over, I WILL!
  3. Elfquest post-by-post RPG my beloved <3
  4. My LARP group is having a huge 50th anniversary bash next Saturday so I've just finished writing a mini-play from the POV of a horse with song lyrics and gestures + have So Many Choir Songs to practice (one of them is a parody of "O Fortuna" and I sing soprano...)
  5. Having fun with my other writing projects, not-fic and fanfic.
  6. Reading books (almost at 60 for this year~!)
  7. Prepping new cosplay! Hades cosplay, here I come :D
  8. Commissioned some cool artwork that might be finished soon <3
  9. Being a player in an rpg campaign too! Though "The One Ring" instead of D&D.
Not complaining, just a little tired (in a good way) XD
nonesensed: (Bloody long book)
We're at week 4 of 2023 and I'm doing pretty well on my New Year's resolutions to myself!

I've managed to only work full time (which is an achievement for me XD), actually sleep enough hours to not be dead on my feet come morning even on the days when I have to get up at 4.30 AM (like tomorrow), and I've replaced all candy and soda with fruits and water and am still doing perfectly fine re: eating and feeling happy :D Am mighty pleased with myself about this <3

My sister and I are in the cosplay planning stages too! Other than repairing and expanding existing cosplays from Mononoke (not Princess, the other one), Critical Role, Okami and DC/Marvel Comics, we're going to be working on colossus outfits from Shadow of the Colossus and new outfits from the Hades game! I'm going to be Persephone in her Hades outfit and I think my sister finally settled on Chef Ghost, with Eurydice as a more long-term goal <3

I'm somehow also heading to a LARP this weekend. Where I'll be singing. Soooo, there be a lot of rehearsing before that~

Finally, I've been reading some excellent books already this year (and right before New Year):

I've made it through Alexandra Rowland's A Taste of Gold and Iron (wonderful bodyguard/prince romance with loyalty a huge focus of the plot + with a smutty epilogue posted on the author's AO3 account) and Some by Virtue Fall (theater drama <3). I've thoroughly enjoyed the latest horror novel by Jonathan Sims of The Magnus Archives podcast, called Family Business, as well as Julia Armfield's Our Wives Under the Sea (eerie and creepy and bittersweetly romantic rather than horrific but definitely good <3). And, on the more classic-ish fantasy front, I and sis at last finished Wolf's Head, Wolf's Heart by Jane Lindskold - still very engaging!

Recommending all five of these books, should any of them seem up your alley! I've written more detailed reviews over on Goodreads.

Been working hard the lately with fanfiction and webpages *exhausted sigh*. Hopefully my fics'll show up here (or _anywhere_) soon.

Went to my second LARP about a week ago. Damn but it's fun! Met so many nice persons and danced and sang until seven in the morning *big grin* I'm so doing that again soon!

No I had nothing more to write...*sigh* Pointless much?

Making ready to go on a one week Larp. Sweet Goddess of Chocolate what made me even consider doing this? Sure, it'll be fun, but I'm not much of an actress. I haven't got a clue as to what a poet is suppose to wear let alone write with/on! I live in constant fear that all my stuff will be confiscated at the entrance and that I will be sent home to live in everlasting shame *hyperventilates*

Will soon continue Shattered Snow, one of the main characters is just being a tad difficult *smacks*. I want to write a fanfic, but I'm having serious trouble deciding for which of my endless number of fandoms. There's too much to choose from!

I'll sit down and breathe with a paper-bag over my mouth and nose for a while.
