Busy busy week!
Oh boy. Things sure have been different these past few weeks. I've sort of gotten used to spending most of my free time on Zoom or alone, so while I've still been keeping safety in mind, I'm kinda...overwhelmed right now XD
In the past two weeks I've:
- Helped host my first LARP in over two years (distances were kept and everyone was fully vaccinated + you couldn't go if you had any kind of symptoms). I had three costume changes and a song number, plus two fairly "shouty + fighty" roles to play. Got home at 04.30 am, phew!
- Went to a Halloween party (the day after the LARP!). A small party, but still a party. Again, safe distances and all were vaccinated, but still!
- Went to see my first musical in I don't know how many years. Just...wow.
- I'm starting up two new D&D campaigns that I'll be DMing, one with a lot of new people I've never DM:ed for before. We might even dare play in-person games eventually (for the group where we all live in the same city)!
It's not back to 'normal' yet by a long shot, and I keep worrying about a severe backlash, but I can't help being hopeful. And now I'm tackling NaNoWriMo! And somehow keeping up with the word count! Despite 0 prep! Aaaah!
Basically, I'm experiencing all of the emotions right now and a few new ones.
PS. Got into the nice spooky mood of Halloween by listening to this lovely audiobook version of The Haunting of Hill House over on Youtube. There's a repeat of part of the book near the end, a technical issue, but can't exactly complain when I'm listening for free, and the reader really worked for me :)
PPS. I don't have cancer. I have lumps, but they be friendly lumps. What a relief!
