Being a good citizen and feeling guilty about it

Got a sore throat last night, so I've booked a time for a COVID-test (they didn't have a free spot until tomorrow) and have canceled all my patients for the rest of the week, because I can't do my work from home (aka video) and I FEEL SO STUPIDLY GUILTY ABOUT IT!

I hate having to reschedule patients. I haaaaateeee it. No one can jump in and temp for me, so now my patients have to wait for another four-five weeks when they've already had to wait for ten weeks!!!

At the same time, I of course can't go to work when I might have COVID!!! That would be fucking evil of me!

So...urgh...

Thanks! I'm feeling okay, just a little tired and sore, which makes it so hard to stay home. That said, it's not like I would chance it, going out in public with a possible case of Covid!

I'm just too used to going to work unless I'm really sick (which isn't such a good thing to be used to...) so being home for a whole week with "just" a sore throat drives me up a wall.

Thank you <3 It's hard to keep that in mind with so many people not thinking the pandemic is "real" and because one of my patients missed that I'd canceled their appointment so they showed up today ;_; I did text them on Monday to let them know it was canceled but somehow they missed that and I feel guilty about it because I'm silly like that.
