I ended up burning out at my first ever full-time job due to inhumane working conditions. I'm mostly better these days, but sometimes burnout catches up with me and fucks me up.

Like today -_-'

Got up at 4.30 am as usual (so I can be sure to get work even if we have massive train delays). Already high stress levels due to 50% of my patients last month either calling in sick last minute or just not showing up. I've had to squeeze a lot of them in this month to keep our wait time "within okay limits" based on regulations. Had another late cancelation call in yesterday about today's 9 o'clock appointment so had to spend 1.5 hours of my Monday admin time (which should go to medical documentation) instead go to calling everyone in the queue to see if any of them could come in last minute. That's a lot of writing I'll have to catch up with ~somewhen~.

Start work 06.45 am. Last patient leaves 3.45 pm. I have to rush but manage to catch the subway that gets me to the commuter train for home at 4.10pm. Feeling mighty pleased with myself until I realize, 2 stations into my commuter train journey, that I've left my wallet at work >XC

Go back to work. Make it to the 5.10 pm commuter train. There are rail issues. Trains switch order. I'm too tired to notice so I GET ON THE WRONG FUCKING TRAIN AND DON'T NOTICE FOR 3 DAMN STATIONS!!!!

Curse loudly. Take train back to my first station. Get on the 5.40 pm commuter train.

I made it home just after 7 pm. I need to get up at 4.30 am tomorrow again.

Is there an off-switch for stress? Asking for a friend who is me.
