Still alive!

Got a quick hit by a cold and/or food poisoning the week before Easter and then spent the Easter weekend at my parents' place focusing on hanging out with my closest family (my mom has been ill but is now doing much better 💖) so I'm waaaay behind on everything that's happening online. Hope everyone's had a good weekend and/or rest period in case you also had time off recently 💗

I'm starting April off with MOAR SELF-CARE! Doing my best to not stress and to have fun with my hobbies, instead of fretting about all the things I want to do, all the cool people I want to chat with (here on Dreamwidth and elsewhere), etc etc. Going okay thus far!

Also, I finally caught up on some big movies I'd missed, like Nimona and RRR! Had great fun with those - please feel free to comment if you want to chat about either of them 😊

It was so lovely and fun! 💖 I haven't read the comic, but I'm aware the film version took some liberties with the story (I've got the feeling that the comic's story is darker and more complex, but I might be wrong about that?)

You're totally right! As someone summarized it in an essay I lost track of, the comics is mostly for adults and teens, the movie is all-ages.
Most characters are more interesting but also less immediately likable in the comics (I love it)

But yeah, the movie! Who are your faves?

Ballister Boldheart ended up being my fave! I really enjoy Nimona too, but I'm a sucker for person who was framed for a crime they'd never commit and ended up lovers-to-enemies with their partner 🖤 How about you? Do you have different movie VS comic faves?

OH, it's a good question. I can just say that in both versions, the center of my fannishness is the (gen!) relationship between Ballister and Nimona. And I love them better in the comics, but I love better the place where the plot leaves them in the movie!
Ambrosius I love more in the movie though!
And there are the comics-only character, like Meredith Blitzmeyer.
