Tumblr ate my life

Will be catching up with livejournal on...Sunday? Maybe? My life is slight chaos, as always, I almost (but only almost) croaked in an ammonia-related accident this Monday and Tumblr has proved to be far too addictive.

I'm thankfully fairly unharmed, my asthma will just be acting up for a while and I have meds for that. It's far less dramatic than I made it sound, no worries!

I have residency out of town every Monday and Tuesday, so I rent a room every Monday night. This week I ended up in a room with a really old refrigerator in and this refrigerator decided to break, spewing a lot of ammonia into the room. I'd by then settled in and was about to go to bed (I'd been up since 5am), but I gave my parents a call and the person who rented me the room, to see if I was in any danger.

Long story short, it took me a moment to realize it was ammonia since it's sort of illegal to have fridges with that around still, so it took me a little too long to get out of the room. I'd opened all the windows though (it's a basement room, so the air doesn't really go anywhere unless you open windows) so I only got a little dizzy and I could still breathe somewhat. And I was only 5 minutes away from the hospital and I work there, so I knew how to get to the emergency room.

The doctor I ended up talking to was a bit worried that I'd collapse, even though my oxygen levels were fine, so I ended up staying in the emergency room until 11pm that night, but all I really ended up with was a three day headache and a sore throat. So it was really only scary in the I-almost-got-hit-by-a-car sort of way XD
