I'm finally done with the second draft of "How to Sway Them" (my NaNo project that refused to be just 50k). I'm pretty happy with it and am thinking about using the free prints I got with this November's NaNo to actually make a book out of it.

However, there are two issues:

1) It's written in English. I'm not a native speaker of English. Thus, I'm sure there's a lot of grammar/spelling/other errors I've made that I haven't caught.

2) I've read it so many times and know the characters so well, that I don't know if I've actually explained everything in a way that makes sense outside of my head.

Thus I'm looking for a beta-reader. The story is (according to Open Office) 175 857 words long. The genre is Fantasy; mostly Action/Adventure with some Romance thrown in because the characters demanded it. As for rating, I'd give it a Teen and Up, for some not-so-graphic violence and flirting/innuendo. Also, one scene with nudity.

Since this is such a monster of a task, I'll try to give something back! I sadly can't pay for an editor, since I'm an unemployed student, but you'll get these things:

1) One of the printed copies of the book. [livejournal.com profile] chibiangle is making the cover, so if you don't like the story itself, the book will at least be pretty ;)

2) Thanks on the first page of the book (of course!)

3) Any editing help you need (I'll probably be more helpful when it comes to feedback concerning flow/timelines/such things, rather than spelling - though I will be on the look-out for spelling and grammar errors too).

4) Other suggestions? Again, can't afford to pay you in money, but I do write fanfiction...

So...help, anyone?

I'd be happy to help! My vacation ends in four days, and after that, time gets a bit limited for me, but if you're not in a major hurry I can work on it during weekends. If you'd rather find someone who can turn it around quicker, no worries ~ just let me know. :)

Yay! There's no real hurry (I don't need to have a finished version of the book until May, since the offer of printed copies ends somewhere in June) and I'd be very happy to have your help!

I'll e-mail you the draft tomorrow (i.e. in a few hours for me, since it's 3 am here and I really should get to sleep). Thanks a bunch!

I'd have offered my help as well, but my grammar is lacking. At least comma-wise. Those commas are my eternal nemesis. *shakes fist*

Thank you for offering anyways! And I know, commas are evil. My trouble is that I tend to use too many of them and forget to end sentences where they should end.

I hope you'll be interested in reading the finished version! I'll be posting it online somewhere too (maybe as an ebook as well as plain HTML, I don't know), so people without physical copies will be able to read the story too :)
