nonesensed: (Bloody long book)

My goal for this year - and it's a soft goal because I don't want to go the burnout route of many previous years in my life - is to actually finish at least one of the *checks notes* five nearly-finished novels I've got here on my laptop.

And by nearly-finished, I mean they're only missing one or two chapters before they're officially a full draft. I'm soooo close on so many of them, and yet...

They of course need plenty more rewrites, all of them, but it'd feel so nice to at least have one whole draft of a book after all the hard work I've put in already. So here's a little mini-list for myself to keep in mind before I go starting yet more long-term projects (of which I already have waaaay more than five XD):

Nearly finished novels
[ ] A Werewolf in October (accidental!werewolf urban fantasy story with found family feels and set-up for f/f & m/m romance that will pay off in a later book...if I ever get that far XD)
[ ] Equilibrium and Professor Balance (superhero BDSM-femdom-flavored f/m erotica with way more plot than first planned)
[ ] Mages and Marriage (m/m former!BFFlovers-to-enemies-to-fake-marriage-to-lovers-again fantasy/romance/erotica with a murder mystery side-plot)
[ ] Of Elves and Dwarrows 1 - Soul-Stealing Elves (a fairly classic fantasy tale with some steampunk elements and a plot focused on culture clashes, prejudice and dealing with miscommunication, romance of all kinds, and ending a war)
[ ] Secrets in Ice (illustrated steampunk-y action/adventure fantasy story that I'm co-writing with my sister, about two sisters trying to rescue a kidnapped brother and all the obstacles they climb over to catch up with his kidnappers)

A Werewolf in October is the closest to being "readable", so I've got parts of it up on my writing blog. It's on draft 5 now, heading into draft 6, and I think I'll stop at 7. I'm only one person with 0 beta readers and I'm not looking to publish professionally, so I can only polish my stories so far. Just want to have a fun time writing - I post my stories online so I can share them with friends :) If anyone gets curious and takes a peek at what I've got thus far, please keep this in mind while reading XD

In other news, my healthy eating is really going great! :D

Time for some TMI! Read at own risk ;)

Okay, so, not to go in to too much detail, but I've been using the WeightWatcher's app since the end of March and I've already lost 5% of my start weight! Counting from January this year, I'm 9 kilos lighter now compared to the start of the year and I've only got a little farther to go before I hit my health-target! :DDDD

To clarify, this weight-loss thing has nothing to do with me "wanting to look better" or anything. I think I look great at any weight! It's just that 7+ years ago I utterly and completely ruined all my eating habits due to overworking at a terrible job. During that time I gained a lot of weight, not because I wasn't exercising enough (rather, I was exercising too much, running 18 km every Saturday & Sunday), but because my mental health was utterly fucked and I had no energy or time to make real food for myself. I survived on fast food and candy. Reeeeaaaally not good for the body, long-term, but also a super tricky habit to kick when you're burned out and borderline-traumatized by a shitty work-and-living situation, even after you quit said job and get a new, good job :/

My dietitian has been so good at cheering me on and helping me set realistic goals <3 It's been a long road, and I'm not at the end of it yet, but it's starting to look achievable! And by that I don't really mean "losing weight is achievable", it's more "healthy eating I can do without having to Think About All The Stuff I Eat All The Time is achievable", with a side-effect of weight-loss happening.

Don't want to count my chickens before they're hatched, but I'm feeling hopeful about this for the first time in a long looooong while~

Congratulations on being so far along on your writing and health goals! I have multiple projects too, but I am not so close to finishing them. I hope you celebrate your accomplishments in both areas.
