I have somehow managed to get everything I should have done today done. Not quite sure how. Trying to distract my hypochondriac brain by keeping busy, because I'm currently playing the patient in a low budget medical mystery show. There's a 90% chance it's nothing, but my brain has latched on to those 10% of Maybe Bad Thing and is gnawing on it like a dog with an old leather boot.
Good thing I've got a full schedule ahead of me until I get my tests done on the 26th!
Been diving through the
yuletide_admin tag set and realized I've got waaaay more podcast and webseries fandoms going for me than ever before. Still got a lot of book fandoms, but it seems podcasts and Youtube/Twitch-series have usurped most TV fandoms for me. Huh. Probably helped along by how media made by indie creators tend to not have to censor themselves so much, but I still didn't see that coming.

Of the podcasts nominated for Yuletide, I enjoyed The Deca Tapes (mini-series-length murder mystery set in space, with horror vibes), Hello From The Hallowoods (anthology series with related stories that's got similar vibes to Welcome to Night Vale but leans more toward horror and less toward humor), and Malevolent (though I've only listened to the first three episodes - it's cosmic horror mystery starring a detective and the unknown entity that now has control over his eyes). Other than those, I'm currently enjoying Old Gods of Appalachia, The Sheridan Tapes, The White Vault and Wrong Station, a number of podcasts in Swedish, and I wish I could forget the story of The Magnus Archives so I could listen to it for the first time all over again <3
And thank you kindly <3 I'm currently tricking my mind into letting me sleep by keeping as busy as possible with work and group projects, which has worked ok thus far :)

Oh that's exciting! I did a quick browse through Yuletide, but I've been at a sort of fandom lull, with nothing really capturing my imagination. I might see if I know a series or two so I can gift a few treats when it starts up. That's an interesting switch from TV to podcasts/twitch!

I've been there - sometimes there's good media to consume that still doesn't inspire fandom activity like fanfic writing. Inspiration can be a mystery at times.
Yuletide has become such a tradition to me that I tend to join every year, as a challenge to myself to get _something_ written (I need the deadline, sadly don't have the discipline for writing treats - I start them but rarely finish), so I'm pleased with how lucky I got this year with my fandom interests :)
I hope you find something inspiring to write a treat for! And yeah, I was not prepared for 33-year-old me to be more into watching people play dice rpgs and listening to radio theaters than watching scripted and professionally filmed TV shows! It boggles the mind (especially as I'm usually terrible at focusing on sound-only-media; have clearly been building up my auditory muscles these past few years XD)
