Do you know the details about how Watership Down has been banned, or was it just in a list? I'm curious?

While filling out this bingo card, I did a google search on the books I'd read this year, so please take my "research" with a huge grain of salt, but Watership Down did come up as banned. It's never been fully banned in the US, even if a lot of schools have banned it from school libraries, but it has apparently been banned in both China and the then-Soviet Union.
Sources, in case you want to check that out further :)

Yeah it makes sense, lots of things have been banned in China or USSR!
It's also one of the only ones I read, the others being Family Business and Tintenherz, and at least some of the Poe stories!

What did you think of Tintenherz and Family Business? I enjoyed Family Business though I suspect I should have read Titenherz when I was much younger to fully "get it".

Tinterherz had fun concepts and characters but was getting long and repetitive in the village part, I love volumes 2 and 3 better.

I'm almost through Tinteblut and I think that'll be it for me when it comes to the Titenwelt trilogy. I've been very frustrated with almost every decision the characters have made and how pretty much everything that can go wrong does go wrong no matter what the cast does. Aaaand my suspension of disbelief was killed quite quick when it's shown that our dear main character has risked life and limb to go live in a fantasy world where she's a second class citizen in so many ways and will be sold into slavery if she partakes in her favorite hobby, when she literally could try to go into Any Other Fantasy World...
I do like the concept of the story itself, it's just the execution that's not for me 😅
