Your top 5 fandoms for 2023 were:
1) Remedyverse (Alan Wake II came out at the end of the year and blindsided me with how much I ended up loving it and rediscovering my love for all the other games by this studio, especially Control)
2) Critical Role (This is one of the fandoms I've been continuously active in the longest. Strangely, it's also the one where I read the least fics, and I haven't written any.)
3) Candela Obscura (Love the setting and fell hard for the second 'season' of the actual play show. I've so much great fanfic to get caught up on!)
4) The Mechanisms (I know I'm decades late to this fandom, but I still had a joyous time listening to all the albums and checking out the recordings scattered around Youtube. Still have one left unseen that I'm saving for a metaphorical rainy day)
5) ElfQuest (Canon jumped the shark for me long ago, but I'm still having a blast rping OCs in old-fashioned post-by-post forum RPGs)
Your top 5 fandom spaces (Discord, Twitter, etc.) in 2023 were:

Your top 5 most appreciated fandom contributions were:
1) My interaction with my friends, which goes both ways 💖(talking meta, brainstorming fic, DM-ing D&D, etc)

As for favorite characters, my favorite mechanism is Jonny d'Ville, 'cause I'm a sucker for a murder gremlin who ends up being the butt of so many jokes (though I love all the mechs and enjoy them most as a group). My favorite pairing is Arthur/Guinevere/Lancelot, 'cause I love every story that solves a love triangle with polyamory 😁
What about you? Any faves songs of theirs and/or characters? 😊

I love most of the songs but I had Laid in blood living in my head for weeks. But also I agree with you for the best part of The Bifrost Incident.
Fave pairing... I adore Loki/Sigyn in THe Bifrost Incident but also Loki/Odin because I love an evil ship.
Not sure about the Mechanisms characters, I don't feel like I consumed enough supplementary material to get them.

Loki/Sigyn is so wonderfully tragic and bittersweet and I adore their whole arc (and also wish they could have had a long happy life together, buuuut they're in a Mechanism story 😅). And oooh, I hadn't thought of Loki/Odin for this canon, but I am intrigued! Wonderfully messed up~
I read all the side-stories on their website, which is how I came to get a favorite mechanism at all. I totally get not vibing with a particular one just from hearing the songs. Have you seen any of the recorded performances and/or have you been listening to the albums?

Oh, Skin and Bone too! I had this one in my head!
Ha ha I'm so biased towards Odin/Loki in the original myth that it seeps into other canons :D

The heart wants what the heart wants 😆 I have plenty of things about Norse mythology that's "permanent headcanons" for me too, that tend to bleed over into all takes on the myths, so I 100% understand where you're coming from!
