This tension headache is murdering me 😖 Hope to get back into the swing of things soon, but there's a loooot of overtime needed for us to keep going economically (long story short: most healthcare workers here in Sweden don't get their rates raised at a pace that matches inflation - our last raise of money per patient was something like 10 years ago...) so January and February look to be rough if we're to keep the queue short enough to get enough future referrals to keep afloat. Blargh.

Hope to get more caught up on comments and entries here this weekend, but I don't dare promise anything 😅 Weekend plans might have to be "just be unconscious for two days"...

Yay, healthcare workers unite! I don't mention work much here on DW, so I'm not surprised it's a little out of left field when I do 😆

Interestingly, Sweden (and obvs Norway) is often painted in a very pleasant light when it comes to salaries and working conditions. "You should move to Sweden, nurses are so much better paid there!"

Oh I can't really complain about the pay. I'm not a nurse (I'm an SLP in case you were curious 😊) so I can't 100% speak for their experience, but for me it's mainly an issue of patient load - which I'm sure is an issue all over the world. The part of the government that pays our section of healthcare hasn't raised the rate for what we as an office make per patient these past, oh, 10-15 years. So with inflation being what it is, our bosses have finally had to cave and raise the number of patients per month that count as working "full time", so when can afford rent and electricity. Aaaand we need to also lower our wait times so we don't loose referrals to other offices. Urgh. Glad fandom and friends are keeping me sane.

Weekend of rest did help! And now that I'm back in the swing of things at work, it's a little easier. Just need to get use to "full time" being slightly more work the it's been previously (~the magic of economics~). Hope you've had a good start of your week too 💗
