#6: Share your favourite piece of original canon.
I have so sooo many! And most of them are huge spoilers (for a recent example, looking at you The Watchmaker of Filigree Street by Natasha Pulley) so I've been having a hard time picking one to share. Finally, I decided to go with an old fave:
Season 2 episode 22 of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, "The Wire".
As much as I enjoy Garak as a character over all, this is easily my favorite episode both of him and the way it focuses on his relationship with Bashir. I love the whole thing, especially the ending scene between Garak and Bashir.
Note to self: I should reread "A Stitch in Time.
To my fellow Garak fans: What are your favorite Garak moments? And I'm always happy to receive fic recs 😁
Challenge #15: Talk about an unexpected joyous moment you experienced last year.
2024 brought some sorrows, yet I had not one but THREE unexpected joyous fandom experiences:
1) Mononoke - aka the one that isn't Princess Mononoke - getting more movies, with a ton more lore 🤩🤩🤩🤩
2) Okami sequel announced!!
3) Star Trek: Lower Decks making Garak/Bashir a canon couple, at least in an alternative universe, re-sparking my interest in DS9 (bringing this post full circle~)

Not a fave Garak/Bashir moment exactly, but this silly video about their first meeting used to circulate on Twitter back in the day, and I watched it every time it got retweeted onto my feed, because it was just so funny to me. My wife and I still quote it to each other sometimes ("tea for the handsome lizard?"). :D

As a Garak fan, I always got a kick out of the few moments later in the series when Garak manned a station on the Defiant. As much as I enjoy the show, I'm a ship-based Trekkie at heart, and seeing him as "part of the crew" really gets me.

Garak being "part of the Defiant crew" is such a great time in the series! The crew feels of Star Trek as a whole are so good, I understand wanting them too in DS9 😊
