Huzzah for you, wonderful Yulegoats!

I'll start by saying that this long letter very much is optional. I only intend to inspire - long Yuletide letters help me out in my writing, so I want to provide that for others, should it be helpful. If you want even more info, I have a very long list of favorite tropes and kinks over here. Most of it's about general tropes I enjoy. Near the end you'll also find things related to NSFW topics. If you want to take a look at what I usually write and read when it comes to fanfic, I'm [archiveofourown.org profile] Nonesensed over on AO3, and I get up to quite a few fandom things on Tumblr, [tumblr.com profile] nonesensed.

Putting my squicks and do-not-wants first, to get them out of the way. If one of my squicks happens to be one of your favorite tropes or kinks, no judgment! I've nothing against people who like stuff I don't, these things just aren't for me :)

Not my cup of tea & Squicks
- A/B/O aka Alpha/Beta/Omega aka Omegaverse. I have read interesting A/B/O-stories, but mostly the tropes don't work for me due to the whole "the gender you've been assigned decides if you're submissive or dominant in bed"-thing most A/B/O stories go with. I know A/B/O is more of an "opt-in" trope, but since I've listed "messing with gender roles and heteronormativity" as things I like, I thought I'd specify that A/B/O isn't what I'm looking for.
- Animal abuse leading to animal death or animal abuse where the animal is left to suffer. I can deal with fictional animals being mistreated if they get rescued from said mistreatment. Also, since I'm down with xenophilia (aka humans getting it on with sentient/sapient extraterrestrials), I'd like to clarify that animal abuse in the form of bestiality (humans having sex with animals) also squicks me.
- Daddy/Mommy kink. Not my thing, whether there's actual incest involved or not. Guardian/child romances or sexual situations are really not my cup of tea, be they play-pretend or not. Same goes for using "daddy" and "mommy" as pet names even if there's no actual incest play involved.
- Plots where character have non-canon amnesia or characters suddenly age regressing into children aren't my cup of tea since they're so common in fanfiction. That said, I have nothing against these tropes being delved into and explored if they're part of canon. Oh, and unless I’ve specifically requested it, characters switching bodies isn’t usually a plot I’m looking for in a story.
- High school AUs. Meaning that I don't mind school-related things if they're canon.
- Reader insert isn't my thing.
- Underage. No explicit sex scenes or sexual situations involving children, please. I am Old(tm) so I mean everyone under 18 when I say children. This said, I will not be squicked out if it's implied or threatened (e.g. two teenagers having had sex with each other "off screen", adults mentioning having had an early sexual debut, characters having had past traumatic experiences, a villain saying creepy things about someone's children, etc.) It's explicit sex scenes involving people under 18 that I'm looking to avoid.
- Vore. Don't mind it implied, but an explicit sex scene with this will be not-fun-horror and squick to me, not sexy.
- Women and feminine-presenting people always being the submissive partner in D/s scenarios when their partner(s) are men and/or male-presenting. No hate on people who enjoy this dynamic! It just tends to be the default in a lot of fiction. I'd love for there to be more Dominant women if there is to be a BDSM and/or D/s dynamic between a man and a woman <3 For all other possible gender combinations I've got no particular preferences. Please just avoid the "all women and fem-presenting people are automatically submissive in bed, even if they start out taking the initiative"-trope that permeates a lot of media (I say as a very much not submissive woman who often has been assumed to be submissive or a switch simply based on my gender, and has seen the same assumption show up in fiction A Lot – to the point where the assumption has become a tableflip-inducing rage button for me XD).
- Watersports and scat (i.e. urine & feces involved during sex - again, this is more of an "opt-in" thing, but since I brought up A/B/O, I thought I'd better list these as nopes too).

That's it for the Do-Not-Wants! Moving on to the things I enjoy:

Genres
Open to pretty much anything regarding genres! When it comes to horror, a happy ending is 100% optional! I enjoy all manner of fic from fluff to horror. I love creepy/eerie horror and cosmic horror, am more 'meh' about slasher-horror and religious horror. I'll also be signing up for a number of the mini-challenges over on [community profile] yuletide.

Ratings
Anything goes! I enjoy everything from the kid-safest of fics to the most explicit of sex and violence. When it comes to the AO3 Archive warnings, the only two I'd prefer to avoid are Underage and Major Character Death (though I'm fine with Major Character Death in horror stories or if the death is canonical).

Writing styles
Almost anything goes! Third person? Second person? First person? Present or past tense? Future tense? Epistolary? Twitter conversation? Outsider POV? I'm here for all of that! The only thing that isn't for me is "choose your own adventure"-stories; no hate, I just have trouble making up my mind on what choices to pick and I thus end up never finishing them XD

Things that make me smile (SFW)
- Anticipation, tension and suspense. Be it unresolved sexual tension, a manhunt for a dangerous killer, or a race against time to save someone's life – if it keeps me on the edge of my seat, I'm happy!
- Character introspection. While I adore an engaging mystery or conflict, I also enjoy slice-of-life and stories that focus on the inner life of one or more characters.
- Competence! Characters getting to show off their skills. I love all scenarios where a character who's really good at something (e.g. magic, diplomacy, detective work, medicine, etc.) gets to use that skill to solve a problem and solve it well.
- Culture-clashes, where both cultures are seen as equals by the narrative - aka not "Oh, look at these poor uneducated barbarians, we must enlighten them!" but more "You've been courting me? How was I supposed to know you wearing a green scarf means you're in love with me???".
- Found family. Characters who go from strangers to "I would die for any one of you" are a delight!
- Messing with and questioning heteronormativity and gender roles. I adore queernorm settings <3
- Kidnappings, for any reason. It's mainly the rescue part of the plot that I enjoy, especially if it's an "unexpected" character saving a more "rescuer"-like character.
- Loyalty in all its shapes and forms! I especially love characters who are a little too loyal; maybe to people they shouldn't be loyal to, maybe to a point where they value that person/those people's life more than their own. Buuuut, I also love when loyalty is rewarded! I love it when trusting someone and relying on someone proves to be the best thing to do - especially if that situations is contrasted with past betrayed loyalty. Just...people being devoted to other people, it floats all my boats~!
- Mysteries, be it a "who did it?", a "what is the meaning of this old text", a "who at court is gossiping about the main character?" or whatever else kind of mystery you can think up. I'll happily read any and all of it!
- Pairings or gen. I've listed pairings for some of my fandoms, and I adore all kinds of pairing-focused fics, be they couples, threesomes, moresomes, etc. This said, I also enjoy fics that have no pairings or only implied pairings. So if my ships happen to not be your ships, gen is very welcome!
- Role reversals (usual rescuer being rescued, "weaker" character saves the day, otherwise more worldly character is courted/seduces/approached by otherwise more "naive" character, etc.) Since who I consider the "usual X" might be tricky to guess, I'll try to elaborate on this for each fandom.
- Vulnerability, especially when it comes from otherwise "closed off" characters. Through being wounded, kidnapped, drugged, bested (even if said person just is pretending to lose to please someone else), being open about something meaningful to them, or in any other scenario you can think of. I'll try to add more specific ideas for each fandom further down.
- I'm very happy to receive AUs and crossovers! All AUs but high school-AUs make me smile. My favorites are fantasy/science fiction/solarpunk/cyberpunk AUs and "what if" AUs (aka close to canon, but one or two things are changed). If I say in a fandom prompt that I'm only interested in canon-based AUs that's just because I love that worldbuilding so much that I want it explored more, it's not that I dislike AUs. If you choose to set the fic IN SPAAAAACE for a non-space fandom I'm soooo here for that :D. I've listed some crossover suggestions for each of my requested fandoms in their specific sections below, but if you want more options here's a list of fandoms I'm familiar with to some degree.

Other things that make me smile (NSFW)
- Consent play aka when the people involved pretend one or more of them aren't into the scene, but they definitely are. Love this best when it's very clear to the reader that it's all play-pretend.
- Foreplay and teasing/tempting (both verbal and otherwise). Doesn't actually have to lead to sex – the teasing is fun in itself.
- Hot Spots - when a character has a spot on their body that makes their knees go weak; i.e. when someone nips their ear, pulls their hair, kisses their neck, etc.
- Kink negotiations. I adore when characters discuss what they're into as a form of foreplay <3
- Overstimulation, as in people being overwhelmed by pleasure, especially when combined with orgasm delay <3
- As much as I love drama and angst, I also adore people having fun while having sex, especially if it's First Time Sex we're talking (and you feel it works with the characters' personalities and the situation). Just a relaxed, laughing-with-you-not-at-you, friendly mood to go with a very fun activity! I also love angry sex and "Oh my god, you almost died!"-sex etc. etc. but if that doesn't fit with your story, know I will still be delighted to read about undramatic, joyful sex <3
- Playful dominance/submission + bondage. Extra great when initiated by the submissive partner. Small gestures, such as holding the other's hands still, biting, rough play, verbally dominating someone, and so on, I love it all! And I do love femdom, if you feel that works with the personality of the woman/women in question. I'm also down for painplay and pretty much anything that is included under the BDSM-umbrella, as long as everyone involved in the sex scene are into it (or are trying things out for the first time and get to say stop if they don’t end up enjoying it).
- Roleplay, be it super serious or super silly. I'm all for playacting in the bedroom <3
- Vanilla sex. Although kinky is wonderful, I don't require it to like a sex scene. I love when there's a clear difference between "D/s scene" and "people just deciding to have sex" because sex can definitely happen without anyone taking the lead (no matter what men with microphones on the internet claim).

Fandom specifics!
Beware of possible spoilers for all fandoms listed below!

BioShock Infinite
(Characters: Robert Lutece & Rosalind Lutece)
BioShock Infinite

What the canon is: A video game set in an alternative reality where science allows for a city to be built in the clouds. Our main character, ex-Pinkerton agent Booker DeWitt, is sent to a lighthouse to recover a young woman named Elizabeth. Things then get...strange… I wrote a promo-post about it over here.

Why I love the canon: The main thing that fascinates me about the canon is the Luteces. I enjoy the setting of having a steampunk sky city, and Elizabeth's powers, but the Luteces are the reason I come back to this fandom again and again. Their weird situation re: physics and time, as well as them having literally broken the laws of the universe to meet, intrigue me.

Why I love the characters:
- Robert Lutece: I enjoy how alike yet unlike each other the Luteces are. Robert has the interesting combination of having both had an easier and a harder time than his alternate self aka Rosalind: he's a man in a time where science definitely is a man's field, but he's clearly had less success professionally than Rosalind. He's also the fish out of water, transplanted to another universe, a journey he barely survived. I'm fascinated by how happy-go-lucky he can seem, relaxed in the face of all manner of odd and dangerous situations, that matches and yet contrasts Rosalind. He can definitely be as cold and calculating as his alternate self, but he seems to allow himself more moments of relaxation.
-Rosalind Lutece: I love that she gets to be the colder and more calculating of the two, because that makes sense to me. Women easily get labeled as "hysterical", so even if she might have started out more easy-going as a child (who knows?) it isn't strange that she has developed an iron grip on her emotions. Because she's clearly a person with passion! Not only did she create technology that lets A WHOLE CITY FLY, she found an alternate version of herself and got him over to her universe despite all of the risks that entails. She's a passionate woman with an ice-cold veneer and I adore that contrast, especially when we get to see the fire beneath the surface!

Pairings?:
I am interested in Robert/Rosalind, buuuuut I get that shipping a person with their alternate universe self can feel incest-y, especially since Rosalind likes to call Robert "brother". I don't experience it as incest (since they're not related and met as adults) – so I'm not looking for any sort of "brother/sister-ship-dynamic" – but I understand if this ship isn't your cup of tea. Don't worry if you don't want to write this ship! I would also greatly enjoy getting to watch them be super close in a non-romantic way! I'm just not interested in any other pairings :) Oh, and if you're up for this ship and you're going more D/s than vanilla, I'd love for Rosalind to take the lead!
.

Story prompts:
Anything with the Luteces! Literally anything! Do you want to explore how they met pre-canon? What it was like when Robert just had transferred over to Rosalind's world; him kidnapping a child and almost dying!

Or would you like tell me your version of how they ended up as they are? What were the moments like leading up to that accident (or was it an accident? truly?)? Their current state of being, what are the limitations of that - are there any?

Post-canon is also very welcome! Do you want to show the Luteces traversing the universe? Crossing over into another fandom? Interacting with other versions of other characters from canon? Or with other versions of themselves? Are there other versions of them? What do you think the rules are for their "powers"? Is there any way for them to end up hurt, trapped or in danger, or are they practically invisible? What would it take for one of them to lose their cool? What sort of projects are they getting involved in? Are they keeping to themselves or getting involved with linear time in some way?

If you're a crossover person, these two could easily show up in pretty much any other canon with the help of their abilities. If you want suggestions, they'd fit in great in the world of Candela Obscura or We Used to Live Here, studying the strange phenomena of those worlds. But yeah, they could go anywhere and meet anyone, so let your imagination run wild! What-if AUs set in canon are also most welcome + AU that changes the setting. BioShock Infinite has so many canon alternative universes that all AU ideas technically fit within canon.

If you want examples of how I see the Luteces, here's a link to fics that I've written about them.

(Oh, and just so you know, I'm not super familiar with the "Burial at Sea" DLC. I started playing it, but never finished, because I didn't like the direction it took the characters of Elizabeth and the Luteces.)

Yuletide sign-up info:
Man, these two. Just, these two. Easily one of my OTPs.

If the Rosalind/Robert-ship is too close to incest for your comfort, no worries. I find everything about them fascinating, both pre- and post-game (as well as during), platonic or romantic. I love their matter-of-fact personalities, the small yet clear differences between them, the impossible state they've found themselves in, as well as their interactions with each other and other characters.

They are entertaining and I want to know all there is to know about them! What was their first communication like? How do they see each other? Has that view changed as they've gotten to know each other better? What's it like being dead and alive at the same time? What other adventures do they go on post-game? Is there any real danger they could end up in? Also, their reality bending powers open up for all manner of both crossovers and AUs, if that's your thing!

DNWs for this fandom: The Luteces losing their "powers", Rosalind being submissive if there's a D/s-dynamic, Robert and/or Rosalind being shipped with other characters, references to the Burial At Sea DLC, A/B/O, animal abuse that leads to animal death (I'm fine with implied animal death & animals being rescued from abuse), bestiality (but I'm okay with xenophilia), daddy/mommy kink, amnesia, age regression, body-switching, high school AU, reader insert, underage, vore, watersports, scat.

Candela Obscura
(Characters: Edgar Lycoris, Leo Amicus, Marion Collodi, Sean Finnerty)

What the canon is: An actual play show about people secretly battling cosmic horrors in a second world fantasy queernorm setting inspired by early 1900s post-war USA. I wrote a promo post for it over here.

Why I love the canon: While I adore the cosmic horror of the setting, it's the Found Family Feels of the different Circles that keep me going back (and breaks my heart when The Horrors(TM) eventually ruin everyone's lives). Each Circle has its unique dynamic and characters. There's so much loyalty and conflict and love all mixed up in a glorious mess and I just want more of it :D

Why I love the characters:
- Edgar Lycoris: I'm a sucker for an emotionally closed off person who's also dedicated their life to healing others. Also, just the way things end up for him… Yeah...
- Leo Amicus: I tend to love all of Taliesin Jaffe's characters, and Leo is no different. I enjoy is strong mixture of cowardly and caring, selfish and generous.
- Marion Collodi: Haunted by visions of the future and self-sacrificing to a fault, my kind of guy! He's such a sweet character and I want good things for him - but it's also great to watch him suffer~
- Sean Finnerty: Okay, so we've got a competent soldier-type guy with little to no self-preservation who covers a lot of trauma with humor and who's enraged and frustrated yet loyal and feels at his most relaxed when he gets to follow orders? That's basically catnip to me. I both want to watch this guy suffer and want him to finally find some comfort and peace. Especially with what he ends up doing to his Circle...

Pairings?:
I am very much up for shipping all of these characters! Any combination of the four characters I've picked or with other characters from their shared canon. I'm a fan of the "popular threesomes" (Jean/Marion/Sean and Leo/Edgar/Malcolm), but I'm also open to mixing and matching the Circle members of Needle & Thread and Crimson Mirror in any number of ways. Expect for ships involving Grimoria (there's just a parental vibe between her and the rest of her Circle and she's just 18 years old) or Auntie Bea aka Beatrix Monroe (parental vibes in the other direction, as well as a fair bit of age difference between her and the rest of her crew). Also, if you want to throw the Lightkeeper together with one or more of my requested characters, I'm all for that!

Story prompts:
If you're inspired to write something plot-focused, I'd love to see a match-up mission with both Needle & Thread + Crimson Mirror! Or, if you only want to focus on one of my chosen characters, a previous solo mission or pre-Candela experience that character has had. For example, what was life like for Leo right after his Worst Day? How does Edgar handle his day to day working at the hospital?

If you want to write an assignment, I love getting to see characters be Good At Their Jobs. It's clear the rest of the Circle relies on Sean for protection and help in violent and/or dangerous situations, that Edgar's medical expertise is beyond helpful, that Leo has capital and social influence, and that Marion's visions are both a curse and a blessing. I love getting to see characters be competent at things they're supposed to be good at :D That said, I also love how the Circles work as a team. Getting to see them work an assignment is a delight, so whoever you'd like to combine, I'm all for it!

If you want to go "What-if?" AU, how about a story of how Needle & Thread and Crimson Mirror team up to either get Sean's mother out of her imprisonment or find Decklan Murphy earlier than Crimson Mirror did in canon?

If you're in the mood to focus more on a relationship (romantic, sexual, or otherwise) I'd also enjoy a story that's about one or more of the characters getting to have a good day with people they care about. What do they get up to when no one is in mortal danger and who do they choose to hang out with and why?

I also would love to see the Candela Obscura re-imagined in any non-canon setting, aka AUs or crossovers with other fandoms! Be they small canon divergences, a completely different setting or if you want to throw in other characters and settings from other fandoms, it's all good! I'm curious to see what you'll come up with :D

If you want suggestions for crossovers, I'd love to see Candela characters interacting with the world of Clair Obscur (maybe a canon fusion where the Writers and Painters live in Newfaire instead of Paris?) or for the Luteces from BioShock Infinite paying Candela's world a visit.

Yuletide sign-up info:
There are many enjoyable Circles in the Candela series, but my favorites are absolutely Crimson Mirror and Needle & Thread! I am a sucker for found family heist groups, even when they don't fully remain such the whole way through the story (side-eyeing you so hard right now, Sean). I've picked my four absolute favorite characters from both Circles, but I love all of the Circle members.

Basically, I want more of these characters! Be it one or more of them, I just want to see more of their lives pre-canon, especially previous assignments with their Circles. A joint assignment between Crimson and Needle would make my day! Especially if it's a what-if AU where things don't go quite as bad as they did in canon (or end terribly in some other way).

Should you happen to be in a shipping mood, I'd love to read a story focused on that too! I'm up for any combination of the members of the two Circles (except for pairings that include Grimoria & Auntie Bea due to parent-child vibes and relatively large age gaps between them and the other characters), as well as pairings that include the illusive Lightkeeper. If you are a fellow enjoyer of D/s, I can see any of the characters I've requested as submissive in bed (but if you'd rather keep things more vanilla and/or not focus only on romance without sex, I'd love that too!)

To clarify, I am a huge horror fan, especially of the cosmic horror part of the genre. Feel free to include whatever monstrosities or mind-bending awful things you like! I have few horror related DNWs so live your horror dreams :D

If you're an AU and/or crossover kind of person, I'd love to see all or some of my chosen characters, and anyone else from the tagset you wish to include, re-imagined in another setting (as the crew of a spaceship? a D&D adventuring party? a superhero team? etc), put in another canon's setting or faced with another canon's characters/setting. I'd love a crossover with any of my other wished for fandoms (+ I have a "here's all my fandoms"-list linked in my Yuletide letter to give you more options for crossovers).

I 100% happily welcome treats! <3

DNWs for this fandom: A/B/O, age regression, non-canon amnesia, animal abuse that leads to animal death (I'm fine with implied animal death & animals being rescued from abuse), bestiality (but I'm okay with xenophilia), body-switching, daddy or mommy kink, high school AU (other AUs welcome!), non-canon character deaths, people under 18 in explicit sexual situations, reader insert, a story that only takes place during the pre-canon war, vore, watersports & scat, women always automatically being submissive in sexual situations when the pairing is male character/female character.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
(Character: Lune)
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 title screen

What the canon is: A turn-based RPG set in a world where every year, every person of a certain age dies - killed by a giant called the Paintress. The story follows an expedition of people setting out to stop her. They are not the first expedition to do so. Not by a long shot. You can watch a trailer here.

Why I love the canon: It's a game that reminded me that I actually enjoy playing video games. You can tell it's made by people who wanted to make this game specifically. The music, the characters, the worldbuilding - it's all so lovingly created.

Why I love the character:
- Lune: I love the contrast of how much she cares and how she can make herself step back from a sitaution and view it "objectively". She's dedicated her life to ending the Paintress, or at least helping the next generation do so. As a person who loves loyal characters (especially characters who are loyal to a fault to an unhealthy degree~) her relationship with her parents and to the mission made her very Blorbo Shaped to me.

Pairings?:
Right now I'm into Lune/Sciel (with or without Sciel's husband) or Lune/Clea (yes, Original Clea). Lune & Sciel have the wonderfully bittersweet vibes of old friends reuniting right before an apocalypse. In contrast, I think Lune and Clea, who I'm aware never truly meet in-game, would make a wonderfully toxic and messed up pairing. Or if you want a real challenge, Lune/Clea/Sciel~

Story prompts:
Anything Lune-centric is welcome! Stories from her childhood, pre-expedition life in general, a story set during canon, or post-canon. If you're looking to go for post-canon, I'm up for both exploring what life is like once Maelle Does What She Does OR a what-if look if Lune manages to return, in some form, post-Verso Ending, to get revenge. Go as dark and tragic as you want with either option~

If you want to go full AU, I'd love to see Lune & co as the crew of a spaceship or researchers exploring some location that is supernaturally dangerous in some way. Crossovers with other fandoms is also very welcome! What would Expedition 33 be like as a Candela Obscura Circle? Or how would Lune react to encountering the Luteces from BioShock Infinite?

Yuletide sign-up info:
This game helped me rediscover my love for video games in general. You can just tell the team's heart and soul was put into all aspects of it: story, music, gameplay. I enjoy all of the characters in different ways, but Lune is my absolute favorite. I am a sucker for an obsessive scientist struggling with unhealthy loyalties, aka how she's isolated herself socially and spent her whole life aiming to fulfill her parents' dream. I would love any story that focuses on her, set at any point in her life (canon or what-if) - or if you're a fellow lover of crossovers and/or AUs with different settings from canon, I'm all for those too! Suggestions for crossovers and AUs can be found in my letter.

When it comes to ships, should you be interested in such things, I'd love to see Lune paired with Sciel (with or without Sciel's husband in the mix) or Clea, OR Lune/Clea/Sciel if you're looking for a challenge :)

I 100% happily welcome treats! <3

DNWs for this fandom: One of the game's endings being treated as 'better' than the other (in my opinion the endings are equally tragic and that's what gives the lack of a third 'good' ending meaning), A/B/O, animal abuse that leads to animal death (I'm fine with implied animal death & animals being rescued from abuse), bestiality (but I'm okay with xenophilia), daddy/mommy kink, amnesia, age regression, body-switching, high school AU, reader insert, underage, vore, watersports, scat.

Critical Role: Aramán
(Characters: Bolaire Lathalia, Occtis Tachonis, Sir Julien Davinos)
Critical Role's poster for campaign 4

What the canon is: An actual play D&D game set in a fantasy world where the mortals killed the gods 70 years ago. In the present day, the magical and political ramifications of these deaths are coming to a head. You can watch the trailer here and the show is being posted to Youtube for free, updates once a week.

Why I love the canon: I'm a long time fan of Critical Role and Dimension 20 both, and having Brennan Lee Mulligan create a whole new setting for the CR core crew and additional new cast to play in is basically a dream come true for me. At the moment of writing this, 3 episodes have aired, and I've loved every minute: the political intrigue, the dark secrets, the way all the characters' lives are so entangled with each other's already, it's just *chef's kiss*

Why I love the characters:
- Bolaire Lathalia: It comes as no surprise that one of Taliesin Jaffe's characters once more is among my favorites. As Matt Mercer put it in the Cooldown after episode 1, it's delightful to have a Bloodborne-boss-looking character tending to the children at the wake. Bolaire is definitely a shifty character, and I'm looking forward to finding out all his dark secrets, but I adore that he seems to also be a museum and magic dork.
- Occtis Tachonis: This poor man XD I adore how out of his element he is, while clearly being a brilliant magician. Also, I adore Pin and his friendship with Wulfric <3 Also also, the way Occtis clearly has some serious Family Trauma going on is very juicy.
- Sir Julien Davinos: Speaking of family trauma - Julien's seems quite different from Occtis', but no less central to his backstory and character. I adore how Julien gets to be both an asshole as well as be shown in vulnerable moments. He's clearly out for himself and whoever he considers his people - I'm looking forward to seeing him either sink or swim with whatever group he ends up joining!

Pairings?:
The possibilities are endless here! The only characters I don't ship these three characters with right now are Thimble (due to the huge size difference) aaaand I can't see Occtis with Thaisha since Thaisha tried to set Occtis up with her daughter, thus signaling how much she sees him in a motherly way, which is a dynamic that isn't my kind of thing. Other than those options, feel free to go wild! I'm absolute up for a full on Plot What Plot, 'cause these characters are hot and they deserve some smut~ If you're looking to go for any kind of D/s dynamic, I'd prefer a take on these characters where at least one of them is submissive, especially if they're paired with other characters than each other (no hate if you want to see them all Domming - this is just my personal preference, not what I think is Absolute Canon).

Story prompts:
I just want to see more of these three, solo or in any combination! Do they run into each other at a fancy party? Do they end up in the crossfire of a fight due to one or more of them being a target (most likely Occtis family acting against him, but Julien and Bolaire seem to have plenty of enemies of their own). Or do you want to explore their inner lives, have them sit and reflect on past personal tragedies or good memories? I'm up for either action or introspection!

If you're a what-if sort of person, an AU of the inciting incident where the rescue plan goes off without a hitch would be interesting to see. I'm also open to any other what-ifs you might what to try out and AUs, as long as magic is part of whatever new setting you wish to throw the characters into. Crossovers are also very welcome! For example, I'd love for some of the Candela Obscura characters meet up with the characters from Aramán, as well as the Luteces from BioShock Infintie (they are indeed my go-to crossover characters due to, well, them).

Yuletide sign-up info:
I think this is the first time I've been able to request a Critical Role main campaign for Yuletide, so I won't let the opportunity pass me by! I'm a long time critter and am so into this campaign it's not even funny. I love all the characters, the brewing mystery and plot, the setting, etc, and I aim to keep up to date with the latest episodes (so don't worry about spoilers).

Since we're so early on in the series here at sign-up, there's not much canon to work off of, which can be both a curse and a blessing XD If you want to go full AU or focus on a crossover since there's not much canon to explore yet, go for it! See my letter for crossover suggestions. Also, I'm all for purely introspective fics and/or PWPs. I'm up for any pairings except for Occtis/Thaisha or any of my requested characters shipped with Thimble due to the size difference (just not my thing).

I 100% happily welcome treats! <3

DNWs for this fandom:A/B/O, age regression, non-canon amnesia, animal abuse that leads to animal death (I'm fine with implied animal death & animals being rescued from abuse), bestiality (but I'm okay with xenophilia), body-switching, daddy or mommy kink, high school AU (other AUs welcome!), non-canon character deaths, people under 18 in explicit sexual situations, reader insert, vore, watersports & scat, women always automatically being submissive in sexual situations when the pairing is male character/female character.

Killjoys (TV)
(Character: Alvis Akari, Fancy Lee)
Fancy Lee

What the canon is: A five season scifi TV series. Not sure if it's streaming somewhere right now, but it's out on both DVD and Bluray, plus, y'know, ~Internet~ ;) Here's a link to a promo post for the fandom.

Why I love the canon: There are three main things I love about Killjoys: 1 - No "as we all know"-moments, 2 - No Worf Effect, 3 - The fact that most characters on the show are decent people who care about each other! Even the "evil" characters :D

To elaborate:
1) All the tiny world details are so delightful! That plant in the corner of the kitchen on Lucy, the fact that Dutch keeps changing her hairstyle, the peppering of linguistic differences between their "English" and our world's English – great touches to make the world seem lived-in and real! The fact that we still have no idea if these humans originated on Earth and how far spread humanity is/if there are aliens (other than the Hullen) is great because it's not part of the main story and it's not something that would naturally come up in conversation for these people. Just...I'm so in love with the worldbuilding!

2) All characters who're supposed to be competent at something are shown to be that (e.g. Dutch's fighting skills, Johnny's tech skills, Alvis' diplomacy & contacts, Fancy's inventiveness) so when they are challenged you feel it’s real because you've actually seen proof time and time again of how good they are at what they do – huzzah for no Worf Effect!

3) My experience of humanity is that most people are decent toward others as long as they're treated well and given the resources to care – and that when those resources are taken away not everyone turns into a serial killer. I love that there's so much focus on Johnny and Dutch being BFFs, that neither could blame D'avin for what he did while mind-controlled (though there was of course trauma related to what happened!) and that there's just so much love! So many people being friends and caring for each other! So many missions that basically boil down to "they're our friend and they're in danger so we'll risk our lives saving them". Plus that the main cast are so good at treating strangers with decency and respect, even when their loved ones could benefit from the pain of said stranger (thinking about Clara and the shield).

Oh, and the humor and sense of fun in the midst of all the drama is also delightful! I love all the banter and jokes exchanged both during off-time and in battle situations! And that the humor they use to deflect or deal with pain is shown as different from their bonding-humor and trying-to-make-you-laugh-humor.

Why I love the characters:
- Alvis Akari: While I'm not religious I have several friends who are very (we're talking being-actual-priests-level faith) and it's so great to see a character in a position of religious 'power' portrayed as so very human. Alvis isn't a fanatic or a hypocrite – he's not infallible either, but him questioning his faith feels genuine and believable, instead of a pendulum swinging between Believe or Not Believe as the plot demands. It's also great how he's shown as a person, and not just "this character is a Monk/Priest". I love all the little humanizing exchanges he has with other characters (e.g. D'avin calling him a "creepy little dude" to which Alvis just whispers "Thank you~"). Alvis is so very, very human, and I love following along as he ponders his faith and in his fight for Westerly's freedom. Oh, and a friend and I have jokingly noticed that he tends to wear more clothing the sadder he is, and less clothing the happier he is. Just thought that was a funny character touch. Basically, I wish we'd gotten more of him <3
- Fancy Lee: I love all the hints we get that Fancy is more than he seems. By this I mean that he comes off as this arrogant asshole at first, and then you get more and more subtext (and outright text) that he actually cares a lot about the people around him. Not only his fellow killjoys – Fancy turns out to be a decent person who's set himself up to play the villain/antihero so other people can have peace of mind. To me, this was especially underlined in that scene where Alvis goes up to Fancy and says how he should have checked in with Fancy more (I'm paraphrasing here). In short, I love how competent Fancy is, I love his snarky humor, I love how he sticks to his own code of conduct, but most of all I love how loyal he is - in his own way.

Pairings?:
I’m happy to read gen-fic, but if you’re looking to write a story focusing on or including romance and/or sex, I’m here for it! You’ve probably already guessed this, but I’d love to see Alvis Akari/Fancy Lee as a ship. I know, I know, they barely speak to each other in canon, but I still think it would be an interesting match-up, especially after that last exchange between them before we lost Alvis. If that’s not a ship for you, I’m also open to shipping either Alvis or Fancy with any combo of D’avin, Dutch and Johnny (just no ship combo that involves D'avin/Johnny or Dutch/Johnny).

Story prompts:
If you, wonderful wonderful writer, want to included both Alvis and Fancy in a story, you will have my heart immediately! I'd love to see anything with them pre-canon or set during canon - or, if you're very kind and write a fix-it fic where Alvis survives to post-canon, that too! I'd love to see the two of them having to work together to solve a problem/enact a heist/get a bounty/go undercover for whatever reason. Fancy needing Alvis as part of a cover story would be extra fun! Or, if you want to explore the regrets Alvis voiced re: Fancy right before he went and got killed, I would be fascinated to read your take on that! In what exact way does Alvis think he let Fancy down?

However, if you're more interested in focusing on only one of them, a "slice of life" story out of canon would be welcome about either Alvis or Fancy! Feel free to add in any other canon character, I love them all! Something introspective about Fancy dealing with being or having been Hullen or about Alvis' crisis of faith would be wonderful, but so would a more action-y story about Fancy going on a bounty hunt or Alvis doing some rebelling. Just, more of one or both of these two, will make me very happy!

If you want to ship Fancy and Alvis, I’d be so happy! I'm open for both a slowburn, an established relationship, a one-off-thing, exes-getting-back-together, or a pure Plot What Plot! Go where your heart takes you! If you like to go more D/s than vanilla, I'd love for Fancy to take the lead in bed since it's canon that Alvis likes to be tied up in bed – though otherwise I'd love for it to be a "sparring match", seeing as Alvis is way more in touch with being open about his emotions than Fancy. When it comes to other possible pairings (see above) and D/s dynamics, I still prefer for Alvis to be submissive, but I can see Fancy going either way or switching it up now and again.

As I said in my sign up info, this is a fandom where I'm up for crossovers with any other fandom! As long as the Killjoys universe is included (aka either two canons meeting or characters from another canon being fused into this one), I'll be happy about any kind of story involving other fandoms. If you're looking for a specific crossover suggestion other than my requested fandoms, I'd love to see the characters from The Magnificent Seven (2016) show up in the Killjoys universe, especially Billy Rocks and Goodnight Robicheaux (yes, I'm a Billy/Goody shipper).

Yuletide sign-up info:
Ah, Killjoys! How I love this show <3 The worldbuilding, the found family, the mystery, the competent people getting to show off their skills~! It's everything I ever could want and more. Well, I would love it even more if Alvis Akari and especially Fancy Lee were part of the main cast. I have this thing where I rarely find my favorite characters among a work's main cast. For Killjoys, my faves ended up being Fancy and Alvis.

If you wish to write only about Fancy, I'd love a story either focused on him being extremely competent while doing his job and/or needing help from someone else. I'd also love a closer look at Fancy's own brand of loyalty - where his lines are drawn, what he sees as 'just', and maybe have someone let him know that he doesn't have to 1) try to fix things on his own so much, and 2) challenge him on his methods (aka the whole 'being an asshole because the world needs assholes who can get shit done'-attitude). If you want to write something shippy, I'm all for Fancy/Alvis, Fancy/D'avin/Dutch or Fancy/Johnny (or Alvis/D'avin/Dutch, Alvis/Fancy/D'avin/Dutch, Alvis/Johnny or Alvis/Fancy/Johnny).

If you'd like to include and/or focus on Alvis, I'd love that too! Either if you want to write a fix-it fic so he can join the shenanigans of the later seasons or post-canon, or if you want to explore the earlier seasons or pre-canon. I'm especially curious about how he feels about the other characters in the cast, major and minor - scenes with any and all other characters that we didn't get to see in canon would be wonderful! But most of all, I'd love to see interaction between Alvis and Fancy, pre-canon or otherwise. What would have happened if Alvis _had_ supported Fancy in the way he seems to feel he didn't? Are there any adventures the two of them might get or have gotten entangled in together?

I'm usually super fond of AUs, but I love the worldbuilding of Killjoys so much and feel there's so much left to explore that the only AUs I'm looking for (right now at least) are canon divergent AUs aka "what ifs". I am, however, very much up for crossovers! Either 'fusion' crossovers where characters from another fandom belong in the Killjoys-setting (e.g. Fancy meets another killjoy who happens to be named "James T. Kirk") or where the Killjoys universe and another fandom setting turn out to be part of the same universe or there's a rift in space time or what have you (e.g. Alvis runs into Starfleet while traveling outside his usual territory). See my Yuletide Letter for a list of fandoms I'm familiar with, in case you'd like to write a crossover but not with any of the other fandoms I've requested for Yuletide.

I 100% happily welcome treats! <3

DNWs for this fandom: A/B/O, age regression, non-canon amnesia, animal abuse that leads to animal death (I'm fine with implied animal death & animals being rescued from abuse), AUs that changes the setting aka high school AU or coffee shop AU (canon-divergent AUs absolutely welcome!), bestiality (but I'm okay with xenophilia), daddy or mommy kink, death of characters who aren't dead by the end of canon, people under 18 in explicit sexual situations, reader insert, vore, watersports & scat, women always automatically being submissive in sexual situations when the pairing is male character/female character.

Monstress (Comics)
(Characters: Maika Halfwolf, Tuya)
Monstress vol 1

What the canon is: A second world fantasy comic series with cosmic horror elements and plenty of intrigue and gore. Here's a link to the promo post I wrote for the series..

Why I love the canon: Beautiful art, fascinating worldbuilding with a slowburn mystery, and lovable characters! There is a lot of gore and horrific things happening to people who absolutely don't deserve it, but in a way that helps the reader get into the conflict and the stakes.

Why I love the characters:
- Maika Halfwolf: I love how she gets to be angry and violent and still strive to do good in the world. She's a messy character and I adore it <3
- Tuya: Speaking of messy characters. Oh Tuya. I love how she keeps betraying the people she loves without truly wanting to.

Pairings?
I'm all for Maika/Tuya! Their relationship is the exact opposite of healthy and I love that - while a kind, happy relationship is the goal in real life, I love to be a fly on the wall with fictional messed up relationships. Is there any way for these two to get together, or is a romance between them doomed in all possible timelines, so to speak? I'm open to both an eventual happy ending or a gloriously horrific tragedy!

Story prompts:
Anything with Maika and Tuya! Their childhood, their time post-war pre-canon, AU situations where they're forced to work together after Tuya's betrayal has been revealed, AUs where Tuya and Maika end up in parallel worlds to their own, or run into characters from other canons (crossover with BioShock Infinite where the Luteces show up? Are things from the Monstress world leaking into Newfaire in Candela Obscura?) Go wild! Oh, and feel free to include any other Monstress characters you want.

Regarding spoilers, I don't mind them, but I've only read the collected volumes of the series. Thus, if you put in a clever reference to something that happens in issue #55 and onward, it will go over my head. However, if schedules are merciful and we get "Volume 10: Hollow Gods" as planned on the 2nd of December, I've got it pre-ordered and will be reading it a-sap. Yuletide sign-up info:
Maika and Tuya are such a wonderful mess to observe! As much as I love the rest of the cast and the setting, the toxic betrayal-filled relationship between these two is just catnip for me. I'd love to see any kind of story that focuses on their relationship: pre-canon, missing scenes in canon, or post-canon, AU settings, crossover with other fandoms, anything goes! Doesn't matter if you give Maika and Tuya a happy, romantic ending, or if one or both of them meet a tragic, horrific end - I'm up for anything starring these two!

I 100% happily welcome treats! <3

We Used to Live Here
(Characters: Alison Faust, Charlotte Bastion, Evelyn Palmer, Worldbuilding)
We Used to Live Here

What the canon is: A horror novel about a house visit that goes very, very wrong. You can find a promo post of it here

Why I love the canon: It has some really good cosmic horror moments! While the book as a whole isn't really a horror story to me (more a tragic dark fantasy story), I adore the glimpses we get that then aren't explained (e.g. Eve's shy dog suddenly adoring a stranger, Eve finally noticing that the Charlie she's with isn't 'her Charlie', the in-between chapter shorts, etc). But contradictory, I also really like Charlie, Eve and Alison, and would like them all to get happier endings and/or revenge for what happened to them.

Why I love the characters and the setting:
- Alison Faust: Alison doing what she did at the end of the book makes her a character I both hate and love. I get why she did what she did, but I also don't think Eve deserved what happened. I just want to know more about Alison and what she's gone through + what happens to her post-canon.
- Charlotte Bastion: Charlie, the original Charlie, seems like a good partner and friend to have. She just seems like a decent person who deserves better than what she got!
- Evelyn Palmer: Poor Eve. She deserved better and I would love for her to get a happier ending than book canon gave her. And if not that, she deserves revenge!
- Worldbuilding: Tell me more about this messed up world! I'd love to see more incidents and strange places that are hinted at in-between the main story chapters.

Pairings?:
Other than the canon Eve/Charlie, I'm not really looking for any specific pairings for this fandom.

Story prompts:
Go wild! Explore other incidents. Show what actually was hiding in the neighbor's house. Add Morse Code in-between scene breaks. Write a fix-it fic so Charlie and Eve can reunite (and their dog too!). Explore what happened to Alison pre- or post-canon. I'll be happy to read anything you can come up with.

For AU suggestions, maybe a story that compares other Eves to canon!Eve and her life? Or a what-if where Charlie and Eve managed to stick together throughout the events of the book and how that changes things for the better (or makes them worse~). And if you want to write a crossover, House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski is an excellent candidate. I could also see the Luteces from BioShock Infinite taking an interest in the mad physics of this world. Or any other fandom I've requested for Yuletide or that I'm familiar with. The sky's the limit!

Yuletide sign-up info:
I love cosmic horror and I love the Navidson parts of "House of Leaves", and this book definitely contains the first and is inspired by the second. I'd love to learn more about this setting, even though it is more dark fantasy than horror to me. The little snippets of other stories in-between the main story are my favorite parts of the book, so if you want to write more of those, I'd love to read them!

However, if you prefer to go the more character-focused route, I'd love either a fix-it fic of Charlie and Eve's part of the story (they deserved so much better!) or to get a closer look at what Alison has gone through and what she's up to post-canon. Basically, go for worldbuilding or focus on Charlie+Eve or Alison; I'll love whatever you choose to do!

I 100% happily welcome treats! <3
